A little bit about me…
I’m the owner and founder of Blooming Bamboo.
Having owned and ran the Blooming Bamboo Yoga Studio in Seaham for 5 years, in July 2022 I closed the studio and I’ve since moved back into a purely teaching role. Doing more of what I love the most… supporting people on their yoga & wellbeing journey 🙂
It’s truly a joy and an honour to bring yoga into the lives of others.
My pledge
I am committed to creating an environment that includes, welcomes and supports all people – regardless of their gender, age, race, ethnic origin, body type, religion, sexuality and background – both within my yoga classes and throughout the wider yoga community.
A very warm welcome awaits…Â and I invite you to join my classes exactly as you are. You are welcome.
My trainings & experience
I first trained in 2012 in India with Yogacharya Lalit Kumar, I’m now proud to be a Registered Yoga Elder through the Independent Yoga Network.
Over the past decade I’ve completed many hundreds of hours of training… advanced studies in Menopause, Yoga Nidra, Breath, Yin, Soundbathing, Pregnancy, Birth, Postnatal & Baby. I became a Certified Breath Coach and at present, I’m working towards becoming an ICF Certified Coach.
Having practiced for well over 20 years and taught for over 10, I’ve witnessed first-hand the healing and transformative power of yoga both in myself and the clients I work with. In 20 years my own body has changed significantly, there’s been challenges through my life, as there always is, and every single time it’s yoga that has helped me through. I’ll be 50 years old next year, and it’s safe to say that my yoga practice has changed along with my experience & my body! I no longer spend more time upside down in a handstand than the right way up… instead my practice has evolved to a more gentle, mindful and considerate state… and my teaching has evolved in this way too.
Yin & Yang
Variety is the spice of life and I honestly believe we should have a balance of BOTH yin and yang in our lives. Dynamic yoga will get you sweating, build strength and endurance, while yin and restorative yoga are still and quiet where the poses are usually held for between 1 & 7 minutes allowing you to fully relax and enter a state of bliss.
