Yoga in the heat Yoga is good for you.

It’s good for your body and its also good for your mind.

The physical benefits of yoga are many and include increased mobility and strength, improved balance and injury prevention from helping to create a better, biomechanically functioning body. Practicing yoga in the heat means you get a wonderful workout, getting the heart pumping and helping you to stretch more deeply.

The heat is never overwhelming, we aim to heat our studio to 26-28 degrees celcius and it really does help you to get deeper into your practice. The heat can help you relax and helps you improve your breathing, thus allowing you to maintain your mental concentration and focus.

It may take a little time to get used to the heat and you will always be encouraged to take the class at your own pace, resting down at any point during the session and to take sips of water during the class.

You may also find it beneficial to drink plenty of water (at least 2 litres) in the 24 hours before your class. Arriving at a class already hydrated will really help you in your practice.

Plus sweating helps to release built up toxins and is excellent for your complexion and so embrace the sweaty you and just think of all the benefits!
