Back by popular demand... our 4 week course for beginners. It will introduce you to the various elements of a dynamic yoga sequence. By the end of the course you’ll feel confident enough to attend any of our scheduled yoga classes.

Each week will allow some time for reflection on the previous week’s learnings and questions that may have arisen.

The course outline

Week One
An introduction to what yoga is and the benefits of a yoga practice
Learn sun salutations (Surya Namaskar A and B) and understand the basics of Chaturanga Dandansa
Learn the dynamics of standing poses
You will enjoy a guided meditation and breathing exercise (Pranayama)
Finally you will rest in corpse pose (Savasana)

Week Two
We refresh on week one and then look into the basic seated postures (asanas)

Week Three
Refresh on previous weeks and begin to build core strength through weaving the seated poses together plus a look into back-bending and going upside down (inversions)

Week Four
Knitting it all together into a full dynamic yoga sequence

For 4 consecutive weeks

Who is it for?

  • Complete beginners, especially those who want an introduction to a dynamic yoga practice in order to feel confident attending other classes
  • Those who have been practicing slower paced yoga or non-vinyasa style yoga and want to progress
  • Some level of fitness required as this is a strong and sweaty class
  • Perfect if you have attended other yoga classes but are looking for a refresher or a deeper understanding of yoga

Who is it not for?

  • The faint hearted!
  • Anyone who can’t commit to the full 4 weeks – as it’s a progressive course, attendance at every session is required
  • Although some injuries or conditions can be worked around, the aim of this class is to work up to a strong (dynamic) yoga practice so other classes may be more beneficial to those with injuries or conditions.
